Q:   Can you help me with ANYTHING not on this site?
A:   No. We ONLY have info on the items we have on the site. We cannot help with ANY custom request.

Q:   Do you have any displays in acrylic frames?
A:   No. All our displays are wood frames with glass panes front & back.

Q:   Do you ship outside the continental US?
A:

- We do indeed ship world-wide, BUT the buy-it-now buttons on the site calculate shipping to US addresses only.
- To place a non-US order we need to know which item(s) you are interested in so that your total shipping (which is based on weight) can be calculated for you.
- Also, delivery time can occasionally (and unpredictably) be appreciably longer than expected

Q:   Do you sell any individual (loose) butterflies?
A:   We ONLY sell the framed displays.
- If you want to open them up and get to the specimens themselves it is not too difficult.
- The frames have 2 small brads in each corner and they are pretty easy to pull (pry?) apart; what is harder is making sure you don't drop the glass on the specimens! Also you can (if you are exceedingly careful) get the specimens off the back glass by sliding a razor underneath them.
- It is all a very delicate operation but it has been done by several photographers already. (See our note cards for examples.)

Q:   Is there any description on the displays identifying the butterflies or where they are from?
A:   No, there is no identification for any butterfly.

Q:

Can I request a particular butterfly I saw on the web in my display?
Do you have any Monarchs (or whatever) butterflies?

A:

No. Every display is different. Each is a handmade piece of art made with native materials as they are available to the artisans.
- We simply import, then resell framed displays that are made in Peru. We have no control over what butterflies go in what display.
- We cannot identify or find any butterfly by species

Q:   Could you please tell me if you sell butterflies from my favorite part of the world?
A:   Sorry! Best as we can tell most of the specimens are native to Peru.

Q:   Do you have any purple butterflies?
A:   We do not get any purples. Even any other colors are hard to promise except that the Morphos are bright luminescent blue and there are always yellow butterflies in most any display of 4 or more specimens.

Q:   Do you have or make any dragonfly framed art?
A:   No dragon-flies at present or any other bugs, but we do have cards with dragonflies on them.

Q:   I have an old display made of butterfly wings.
Is it worth anything? Who can I ask?
A:   We get asked that question all the time! Sorry,we cannot help with these items. There are so many beautiful crafts and displays made in so many places over so many years by so many peoples we could not even begin to help you with your particular item.

Q:   How long can I expect for standard delivery?
A:   We make every effort to ship orders as quickly as possible.
- Your item should ship within 3 days from when the order is placed.
(We ship 2 - 3 times per week depending on order volume.)
- Standard shipping is by USPS Priority mail with insurance and tracking.
- Your standard order therefore should arrive in 6 business days at most after your payment completes.
- By special arrangement (and at additional cost) overnight and 2nd or 3rd day delivery can be arranged.
Contact us for details.

Q:   Please send a catalog. OR
Please send us your wholesale pricing.
A:   We have NO catalogue. Only available is what is on the web site.
As to wholesale pricing, since our regular prices are already so low
wholesale pricing is very simple...
15% off our regular prices on orders of 12 or more pieces AND shipping
is via YOUR FedEx or UPS account.

Q:   What do you use to spray the butterflies? What do you use to adhere it to the glass?
A:   We do not know how the displays are made. We just import them and sell them.

Q:   How do I know that FramedButterflyArt is a reputable company?
A:   Our PayPal feedback is at 100% satisfaction with a 10 year history!
We can also supply references upon request.

Q:   Do the frames for the displays come in any other colors? I would be interested in a different frame, either a clear shadow box or white or black painted frame. Can it be done? Do you paint the frames ever?
A:   All the displays are sold as we receive them from Peru, which is either the black or the stained wood only as you see in the web site photos.
- Perhaps you'd like to do the painting yourself. Opening the frame is not too difficult if you are handy, but we do not do this as we are not handy!

Q:   How can I pay?
A:

We accept PayPal payments only

Q:   Do you do any kind of repairs or appraisals?
A:   We do not. We are only resellers of an imported product!

Q:   Are the 17 butterfly displays the largest you sell?
A:   The only displays available are what is on the web site.

Q:   Are the butterflies and other specimens visible from both sides?
A:   Yes. The displays are double panes of glass.

Q:   Where do you ship from?
A:   Upstate NY, ZIP 12737

Q:   How do you preserve real butterflies without them degrading over time?
A:   We do not make the frames therefore we do not do the preservation of the
included specimens so we cannot tell you what has been done.

We are told by our customers (and see it ourselves) that the specimens and their preservation is very good. Follow the simple rules on our care sheet (http://framedbutterflyart.com/policies.htm) and the displays will retain their beauty for many years to come. We have had displays hanging in our home for over 10 years and they still look great!

Q:   I am looking for something I once saw [somewhere]. It looked like [shape, color, construction, contents, etc]. Can you build something like this?
A:   No. We ONLY have displays like the ones shown here as examples. We do NOT build or repair any displays at all in-house.

Q:   Which butterflies are common and more likely to appear in a display?
And what colors they are?
A:   There are yellow butterflies in most every multi-butterfly display. In the bigger displays (7 and up) one of the 2 big Morphos are not uncommon. Many of the 17s lately are coming with a big Morpho AND a Pearl Morpho.

Q:   Do you have in stock the exact same display I see on the web site?
A:

Many displays shown are indeed the display you will receive.
Some photos of items are simply examples showing how the butterflies in that display are arranged.
Each page will tell you if the display shown is the one you will receive or if it's an example of that display.

Every display is beautiful!
